Work in millimetres or inches, Chinese or English

Describes RotoSpider Desktop 0.8.13 · checked 2026-09-13 D5

The desktop app works in Chinese or English and shows its numbers in millimetres or inches. Both are set in Settings and take effect at once for every page.

Language, unit and rendering in Settings

Language

Chinese or English. Every label, message and the status strip switch; the workbook's contents do not. A Chinese workbook with Chinese headers loads in the English app and the other way round.

Display and input unit

Millimetres (mm) or Inches (inch). In inches, every field shows inches and accepts inches with up to five decimals; the app stores each value exactly, to a thousandth of a millimetre, so switching back and forth does not drift. The workbook keeps its own units, centimetres for molds and millimetres for arms, whatever the app shows.

Rendering

Use software rendering relaunches the app with hardware acceleration off. Use it only when the 3D scene stays blank or flickers on a computer without a working graphics driver; it is slower.

The web app

The web app has a language menu with six languages and the same mm / inch switch in its top bar; they are remembered in the browser.

Comments and questions

The app's rules are our reading of the physics; where your plant knows better, the app changes.
