Describe the factory
Describes RotoScheduler 0.2.1 · checked 2026-09-14 D5
Click Factory inputs. It is a dialog within Scheduler, with sections for the plan, machine-day capacity, molds and jobs. The picture shows Plan and policy and the first machine-day entries; scroll down for molds and jobs.

The inputs
| Input | What it describes |
|---|---|
| Plan name and horizon | The document's name and its first and last planning dates. |
| Machine-day capacity | The machine and date, available production turns, nominal cycle minutes, and whether the machine-day is available. |
| Machine arms | Each dated arm's identity, availability, type and geometry. |
| Molds | Mold dimensions, weight, available copies, parts per cycle, material, process class and display colour. |
| Jobs | Product and mold, required quantity, due date, and whether demand may be deferred. |
Machine identity is shared across dates; capacity and arm availability are dated. Cycle slots is a count of available turns. Nominal cycle minutes is the reference duration of a turn. Keep these separate from the projected heating and cooling times shown on the board.
Applying a change
Save a version before changing factory inputs. Starting plan offers Automatic plan or Blank manual plan. Apply and rebuild replaces the current plan with the chosen starting plan and resets its saved moves; the dialog warns when it is replacing a stored plan. Cancel leaves the current plan as it is.
The browser demo shows the sample factory inputs for reading; its fields cannot be edited there.
